Finished 1st draft

While on holidays I finished a short story that I'm submitting to a contest. It's the first draft, but I'm proud that I finished it!!!! I finished last week and wanted to just leave it alone for a week or so before editing. It felt so good to actually finish something!

Thanks for the support, this was a huge accomplishment for me. I have so many rods in the fire when it comes to wips....writing this short story was good for my mental state of mind. I really enjoyed it. Now I just need to find the courage to edit it. I haven't even looked at it since I finished it.

What's your definition of finished? I ask because I've been focusing on finishing lately, and defined it as done enough to submit or share (and actually doing it). I have troves of flash pieces, blog posts, and others that are about 25-80% done, but shockingly few have actually been submitted or shared. But at least the last two weeks I've been finishing? I finished four poems yesterday

'Finished' is relative to the task to which it refers. First draft? Second Draft? Writing? Revising? Editing? Etc.. In this case it's completion of the first draft.
