For the past 2 years, I've attended my local writer's conference and entered into their annual writing contest, with no success. Well, this year, I made it into the top 5 for the Fantasy category! When I got the call, I started crying. I never thought that my writing would actually be good enough to make it this far. It's maybe not the biggest of successes, but for me, it's HUGE. It's really given me a boost of confidence that I'm finally on the right path and maybe, eventually, I might get published.

Part of the prize for making it into the top 5 is that I get a 10 minute one-on-one session with the editor that's judging for final placement. I'm definitely taking advantage of that, but I'm a little terrified. What in the world am I supposed to talk to him about for 10 minutes? I feel like I'll meet him and either break into tears or get so tongue-tied that I won't be able to get a full sentence out. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
