May Justice John Paul Stevens Rest in Peace

I know he was a very old man--who, by the way, lived a life so full no one could possibly say he didn't maximize his time on this Earth--but I can't keep myself from feeling a little apocryphal about it. He was the kind of throwback figure I ache to have back in the ascendancy of our government. Brilliant, kind, courageous, principled, and most importantly, not so hung up on his own superiority that he found learning and growing and open-mindedness to be reprehensible.

What a legacy he leaves.
