I'd like to spark a conversation about outline styles different comic artists use. My outlines are a bit sloppy sometimes (ahem), but very functional. For each panel, I lay out what the action and dialogue will look like from left to right as well as top to bottom. They also almost look like a script. I make a point to include lighting, mood and atmosphere cues, relative positions, and perspective.
For example:
Panel 1 - [Top view perspective, thin white highlights and black shapes; Marissa on L staring out window, Carly on R with head in hands]
Marissa: "I can't believe it happened again. We're going to get caught."
Carly: "Stop talking about it. Just...stop."
How do you outlines differ?
