hello from total amateur writer

Hey folks,
I recently decided to start writing fiction in my leisure time. I don't write it to be shared with anyone. But I would like to find a small writing group for like accountability and encouragement. So that's why I joined this site, to look for such a group.

The things I write are generally sort of science fiction adjacent. I also love to read. Kazuo Ishiguro, George Saunders, and Cixin Liu are a few of my favorite authors.

One of the things I'm loving about this group so far is that it blurs the line from 'total amateur' to 'total expert' into something slightly less terrifying. This forum has such a range of different perspectives and life experience, and you can quickly sense that the attitude here is that everyone brings something valuable to the table.
