Hey. I'm teaching myself to sing, and would like some karaoke recommendations. Could be an entire band or just a few songs. Basically anything available in most karaoke places.

I want to get good enough at a variety of songs before actually going karaokeing.

Doesn't matter how obvious your suggestion might seem. I come from a black metal and aggrotech background. I seriously don't know what gets sung in karaoke bars apart from about a dozen songs...

Any help you can give is much appreciated!

Thanks, I'll add those to the list.

Bohemian Rhapsody is already the first song I'll be doing. I connected with it. The other 2 on my list of definites are Just A Girl and Don't Speak by No Doubt. Don't speak is my end-of-night song because of all the feels. :)

In the Year 2525 by Zager & Evans is fun, also My Way, Syd Vicious version. I understand it's a bit of a faux pas or worse to do the Sinatra version in certain circles.

Cheering you all on!
If you’re looking to get the crowd into it, any girl power song will do (this goes for guys too).

More crowd pleasers:
Forget You
Don’t Stop Believin
Hey Jude - tell the crowd you want to hear them for the Na Na Na Nas

Vocals:
Killing Me Softly
