Another good week. I decided to run a Kindle Countdown sale on the first book in my series in celebration of the release of Book 2; that has resulted in a few extra sales. Not exactly burning down the house but better than the flatline I've had for the last couple of weeks. I also did the review and necessary rewrites for Book 3 and got those off to my formatter/cover designer. Nothing will happen on that front for a couple of weeks since she's on vacation, but I figured I'd get it queued up for her.

Finished my third book for the month (a collection of short stories by Mary Wilkins Freeman) so my reading goal is done. I continue on target with my short-story reading as well as my writing on Book 5 and my tiny little exercise goal. I also decided to participate in July Camp, although I don't know yet what my project will be - probably another 10k on Book 5. If I can do that I might actually be close to finishing this first draft.

[ ] Write 8k words on Book 5 of my series - 5,067 out of 8,000
[x] Read 3 books - 3 out of 3
[ ] Exercise 30 minutes a week - 3 out of 4

[x] Republish Book 2 of my series on Amazon
[
x] Do promo for Book 2, including sale pricing on Book 1

[x] Review Book 3 of series
[x] Rewrite Book 3 front matter and acknowledgements section
[x] Forward everything to designer/formatter for new cover and interior layout
[ ] Determine publishing/promo schedule for Book 3

[x] Decide if I'm going to participate in the July Camp

Week three and still not doing much! I probably should have just updated at the end of the month, but I like my weekly habits.

I've done a little bit more on the short. It's not going as smoothly as it felt like it would, but it's going. No game stuff so far - really need to get on that - and no actual Haven stuff, but I had some ideas this morning I'll make sure I note down, and maybe I'll draw a map while I'm watching the sportball.

With the whole cold thing, didn't feel like anything complicated, so read another Famous Five. I finished that while at work and intended to move straight onto some Hugo shorts but discovered that I'd forgotten to actually transfer the Hugo stuff to my Surface. Oops. So I started reading Summer in Orcus by T Kingfisher instead. (It was a last year nominee I didn't read. I did really badly at Hugo reading last year. I keep saying this year I will do better (at reading and noms) but have not yet, and I don't think 2019 will be my year either.) Enjoying it, but I always enjoy her stuff. Halfway through and I'm still not sure why it's written under her adult pen name though.

1. Reach each day left in the month! So far :)
2. Read five books. 4/5
3. Read a number of shorts. Flash?
4. Do some game planning. Nup!
5. Write a short story. Started!
6. Start Haven map/occupant list. Nup!
7. Bake something. Not yet.

Weekly check-in!

Finished the 2nd PoV rewrite this morning, so just the 3rd to go. That gives me hope I'll finish that by the end of next month.

I'm starting to get bored with the body-weight routine, one of my common exercise problems. I'll get through it this week, but I think I'll try something else next month.

● Decluttering progress:
[ ] Empty stuff out of the closet
[ ] Put what I'm keeping back in the closet
● Nerd Fitness Beginner Body Weight Routine once a week:
[X] Week One
[X] Week Two
[X] Week Three
[ ] Week Four
● Writing/creativity course lessons or writing exercises:
[X] Decide if I actually want to do the StC exercises
[X] Finish Judy Blume's course
● Writing, etc.:
[ ] Decide what I want to do for Camp in July
[X] Finish TCTUA revision for 1st PoV
[X] Finish TCTUA revision for 2nd PoV

Not a single word. Not one. Got a lot of game-making stuff done and went to the dog beach, but that's about it. July Camp is usually a good restart for when I'm in a dry spell.

Dog beach...I want to go to there.

Fun place if you like nosy barking furballs covered in sand. We took our cat friend there one time and he was not feelin' it.

We want to go back but it's too overcast today. Will try to get pictures. :D

Well, I fell a bit short on my writing goal this month, and am having to delay scheduling the promo and release of Book 3 until my formatter/designer gets back from vacation next week - but otherwise, a successful month. I'm a bit sad I didn't make goal, but this week has been nuts, with my mom being released prematurely from rehab (they're sending her home until her broken leg has healed enough for her to bear weight on it, and there was no point in her using up her covered days in rehab to just sit there) and all the attendant hysteria from my siblings while we sorted out who has time to stay with her so she doesn't do anything foolish like try to walk. I may/may not have to go down the last full week in July, which is the only time I have available before I start rehearsal for my next show July 30th. It's been hard to focus on writing with all that going on, but I'm hoping that unsettled feeling won't carry over into July, since I'm starting CampNaNo tomorrow - with another 8k goal.

I'll be starting the new monthly thread in just a bit, and will link to it once I do. Camping or not, I hope everyone will join us there!

[ ] Write 8k words on Book 5 of my series - 7,288 out of 8,000 almost but not...quite...
[x] Read 3 books - 3 out of 3
[x] Continue reading one short story a week - 4 out of 4
[x] Exercise 30 minutes a week - 4 out of 4

[x] Forward everything to designer/formatter for new cover and interior layout
[ ] Determine publishing/promo schedule for Book 3 (holding over to July)

[x] Decide if I'm going to participate in the July Camp

Final update. I very successfully did very little all month.

Indeed, I overachieved and did even less than I should have :p I even missed a couple of reading days.

I didn't finish the story in the end, but I got a good way through it. I thought about finishing it on the Sunday, but then, well, didn't.

I finished up Summer in Orcus, very much enjoyed it, and will take the author's word on why it's under her adult pen name. I was reading that on my surface and in between needed something I could read in the bath (definitely not the surface) so started Pride and Prejudice. Then I couldn't not finish it once I started it! So all up I read six books, but not as many new ones as I'd wanted, and not any shorts.

Really, though, I won't know if this month succeeded in its aim (refreshing me, basically) until at least next month.

For baking, I made some mutant cupcakes that attempted to escape their tray, which were meant to have sprinkles through them, but they melted and just made them more sugary. Despite all this, they were pretty tasty. If I fix those issues, it'd be a good base for whenever I need just a basic vanilla cake mix.

1. Reach each day left in the month! Nope.
2. Read five books. 6/5
3. Read a number of shorts. Nope.
4. Do some game planning. Nooope.
5. Write a short story. Almost finished!
6. Start Haven map/occupant list. Vaguely.
7. Bake something. Yeeees. Vanilla confetti cupcakes with leftover chocolate ganache.
