Has anybody entered this contest? L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future Contest https://www.writersofthefuture.com/

I wrote a sci-fi short story and submitted it to their contest a little while ago and it didn't win first, second or third prize. I asked them how many people I went up against in an email and they said they don't divulge that info because if people knew how many tried, they would be very discouraged.

It was pretty disheartening.

There are mixed opinions on the contest. On one hand, they offer more money than many contests, and some very good writers have won awards from them. On the other, they're affiliated with the Church of Scientology, which has been repeatedly accused of some pretty awful behaviours.
