The season started earlier than ever but the real opening day is on Thursday when 15 games take place. The defending champion Red Sox will be in Seattle for a late afternoon start. Mostly early games on Thursday. Cardinals and Brewers is another good opening day match up. Rockies at Marlins, Dbacks and Dodgers. Could be interesting. Opening day usually is.

I watched the Red Sox-Mariners game. It hurt.

Seattle has the best record in baseball right now at 11-2. Rays are next at 10-3. Indians, Mets, and Padres are the other teams alone in first. Brewers and Cardinals are tied for first in NL Central.

Minnesota Twins are off to a great start. They have the best record in baseball and already have an eight game lead over Cleveland.

Crazy game between the Yankees and Red Sox with NY winning 17-13. Yankees have homered in a major league baseball record 29 consecutive games. Yankees are seven games up on the second place Rays and ten up on third place Red Sox. At 23-58 Baltimore has the worst record in baseball.

Twins are still way ahead of the Indians and Astros in first place out west.

In the NL Braves are up six on Philly. The Pirates have won 8 of ten and are only three back of Chicago in the loss column. Could we see a four team race in the NL central?? Dodgers have a big 12 game lead out west. Marlins have the worst record in the NL.

It's almost July so baseball is in full swing!

Big win for Cleveland tonight in Minnesota. As good as Minnesota has been this year Cleveland is right on them. Only one game back.

Indians beat the Twins again and the two are now tied for first place in the AL Central. At 70-46 they are tied for the third best record in the AL behind the Yankees and Astros.

Yankees are red hot and have won 9 of 10. The Mets are on fire and have won 15 of 16 after scoring four in the 9th to beat Washington on Friday. Mets are now very much alive in the playoff hunt and the NL East could be a four team race. WOW.

Cleveland took three of the four games in Minnesota and now have a slight lead in the Central. The loser of that division will almost surly get into the playoffs as a wild card. Tampa Bay and Oakland will probably fight it out for the second wild card. The Yankees and Astros are way ahead and will win their divisions.

In the NL West Los Angeles has a staggering 18 game lead over second place Arizona. Atlanta still has a solid six game lead over Washington and eight games over the Mets. It's tighter in the central with the Cubs having a two game lead over St. Louis, and three over the Milwaukee Brewers.
