I'm considering the strategy of releasing my next manuscript online as I'm writing it, chapter by chapter, to get feedback and hopefully drum up word-of-mouth and engage with readers. Then I'd go over the entire manuscript, make adjustments, then release it on Amazon.

Are there any rights issues here I need to worry about, assuming I release it all under my real name?

Beyond the fact that it’s considered a reprint if you try to publish it anywhere else, seems like it’s just considered self-published. All rights remain with you.

Issues with rights are generally between the author and the publisher. You’re self-publishing, so that makes you the publisher of the writer: you. There shouldn’t be any concern over rights between the two. So I guessed you meant that later on, if you wanted to traditionally publish the novel, what would be the rights-status of it.

If the writing is already out there on Amazon, it’s a reprint, which means no first world rights can be offered.
