"Write it all straight through to the end, then go back and revise."

It's the worst advice for me as a writer. I often revise the previous sentence, mostly the recent paragraph, and always before the next page. I know my story and don't need to fly by the seat of my pants. I do need to make sure details are clear with decent punctuation and grammar.

It's usually the worst advise given to prospective clients. Those rushing through to THE END tend to revise the same the way, reading what they want to see rather than what's actually on the page. Material submitted for edits comes as drafty as an Oregon river canyon.
