I'm thinking of a television show: Criminal Minds. The show always focuses on the killer and how they came to be what they are. Often I sympathize, yet I never want the baddie to get away. It is a sad and real thing that horrible human beings usually do not start out as monsters, but become what they are through events they experience in their youth. It is equally sad that some people are just born flawed. Does it matter if people feel badly for the OP's bad guy?
