Okay here goes:

Finished a chapter in my new work.

Got a good 1,090 words into my next rough draft chapter of my new book. (Chapter 36)

Got four background entries made, kind of like fictional Encyclopedia articles I use for World Building (fun but not always practical. )

Got a sample edit, and soon I will be editing my sample edit myself.

As the saying goes books aren't actually written. They're rewritten. And rewritten. And re-re-re-written. And rewritten again until bills or circumstances force publication. = (

Most importantly perhaps - got into the AW forums!

Welcome DialogicalNovelist! Indeed, I am a big fan of the re-re-re-write method. :D

Not sure how many words - but I finished a chapter and hope. I believe I got some of those "Jaws Moments". This refers to a scene that captures the reader and makes them forget about all the bad stuff happening. It refers to that seen from Jaws, where the youngest son plays with his dad - making faces, etc. I try not to get too distracted from the plot, but I love making those moments because it brings the reader deeper into the world - so it is not like "the world is a plot/setting for a plot" but the world is a living, breathing thing. There are actual people living there, with hopes, and dreams, and fears and goals and plots. Loved ones. Histories. Psychologies and Philosophies.

I love doing this with scenes, but also with conversations and am working closer to mastering this latter while remaining streamless with respect to the overall narrative. So I finished a chapter doing this, and planned out one of the final battles at a tactical level. I may have written 2,000 words or more, but did not keep track. It has been a busy week for me, in terms of writing and real life responsibilities.
