I was saddened today to learn of William Goldman's recent death. I've seen The Princess Bride so many times and have several copies of the novel - I only wish I could write such quotable lines.

Where's Miracle Max when you need him? :(

(Mods: I couldn't find a thread about this, which surprised me, but feel free to transport it there if there is one, or if there's a more appropriate area to post this. Thanks.)

No this is the right place, all right. :)

I'd read so many tributes -- Ken Levine's was pretty good -- that the thought of posting something here felt like a weak echo of what better folks had already said. Quite the talented writer.

So sad! There’s no telling how many lives he touched.

Loved that book. Loved his writing.

Me, too. Also its follow-up, Which Lie Did I Tell?
