...and I don't even know where it's going. I just hope I find it along the way. Like an improv conversation. An improversation.

Only kidding, that's Michael Scott. But on the real, do any of you ever start a novel and have a general idea of where it is going, but then a few chapters in it gets hazy and you're just not sure of where to go next?

What are your ways around this/how do you get past this hump?

I've never been much of a planner when starting a new piece of writing, but I'm not against the idea of it.

At that point, I stop, plan and work on background information that I need.

However, I'm a hybrid "pantser/plotter" writer.

I am stuck on my chapter 11 of my NaNoWriMo WIP. I am working on it now, but because I'm stuck, I am now 6 chapters behind. I'm supposed to be on chapter 16.
