(Ignoring some other comments in this hellthread that ruined my morning...) I've heard it said that from now on, all Dem candidates need to be Obama, and all GOPers need to be Trump. There's some truth in this, but I hope not! Certainly, both parts of that statement worry me.
I do believe there are transformative, inspirational candidates out there, some you've heard of, some who aren't in the zeitgeist yet, and I'd be happy to discuss my ranked choices on Wednesday, Nov 7th. But living in Obama's shadow can be hard, and some, like me, were skeptical of Barack at first and came around quite happily. So inspirational doesn't just happen, and it's a high bar even when you're not getting compared to the last person.
