Canadian Astronaut David Saint-Jacques wants bedtime stories to read to his kids during his upcoming stay on the ISS and the Canadian Space Agency is making a contest of it. There are three age categories, 9-12, 13-15 and 16 and up. One English story and one French story will be selected as winners in each category to publish on the CSA website and Saint-Jacques will pick his favorite from the finalists to be read on a live broadcast from the International Space Station. Deadline is December 31st.
Stories must be unpublished. Authors retain copyright of their stories, the CSA gets unlimited but non-exclusive rights to use it "without compensation". So it is a contest 'for exposure' but wow, what exposure!
If I were Canadian I'd give it a shot just for how cool it would be. Alas.
