On a photography forum that I use to visit, there was a challenge to create album covers out of random elements. The challenge was fun, good photo editing practice, and inspiring.
So, here's a take on that, but the challenge here is to create a book cover (of course).
STEPS:
1) Go to https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Images. Click "random file" on the left. This is your cover image.
2) Go to http://random-name-generator.info/. There are a few parameters you can choose from. This is your imaginary author name. Or, use your own name.
3) Go to https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Main_Page and click "random page" on the left. Mine a phrase from the final entry. This is your book title.
4) Combine the image (image editing is encouraged), name, and title into a nifty book cover using your choice of program. MS Word will work just fine.
5) Share!
Here's hoping that this little project gets your creative juices flowing. Warning: it is very, very easy to spend a lot of time on this. Set yourself a ten-minute limit to be on the safe side. It doesn't have to be gorgeous. The example below took me about ten minutes using Paint 3D.
