Location
Port Orchard, Washington
was there ever
time
without
clock

house of
shadows
resembles night
sage surrounded
includes side-swipes of
light
ancient suns
moons
with love of
canyon wren
music
a deep-throughted
rock-walled
ancient trust

half images of
man
woman
child
finish each other's
songs
follow the earth's
ways
bird and beast
also
with them
the plow
a continuance of
faith
spear-shaped
linked to
ancestors
whose graves shape
the low hills

tree
with such a link
also
leans over rock
tall brush
and memory of
day-long path to starlight

farm
in their arms by
river's side-
that once washed grassland and
the looking out cows and infinities
of green-
senses it's fences
nearness and
marvels at
human voices
singing in
breathable air and
follows the seasons
distance of
hovering hearts love
from the hill's graves
and adds comfort with
a hum of wild flowers
fields
of wheat

home-
why did the grass
turn brown
the once abundant love of
green gone

the wind did not
make it
nor snow
nor rain
but growing old
children no longer waiting for
the school bus

and presence of
old clocks with
no time
left

just a thank you for posting this.

you're as nimble as ever and "finish(ing) each other's songs" is just lovely.
