What would you say are the biggest pacing differences you've noticed between adult fiction and upper MG? Is there anything specific (i.e. plotting, character development, etc.) that you've noticed is done quite differently between the age groups?

Adult readers are more patient. An author can take a page or two before getting into the meat of the story. Middle grade readers will get bored and go play a video game.

I've written both. To me, adult fiction is like drinking decaffeinated tea with time to reflect while MG fiction is like drinking extremely caffeinated beverages where pacing is like bam, bam, bam.
