I recently queried two agents with my new manuscript and got as many form rejections within a week. To be fair, I probably shouldn't have signed off with "Awaiting your reply with a biblically moist anxiety."

Back to the grind. And revising my query letter...

If you had signed it that way, a certain kind of agent would have taken a liking to you, maybe even enough to request pages!

It's hard, those form rejections. Don't let 'em get you down, okay?

Congrats. I’m getting too intimidated before I get started. My manuscript is middle grade, I had a beta reader years ago so I feel confident about it. But the damn query though. So kudos for having the guts to submit!

Don't fret too much, it usually takes a few manuscripts and dozens (hundreds) of queries to get to any level where you get replies. Just keep chipping away at that coal face, keep writing.
