Since I was 12 or younger I wanted to be a writer but never really did anything about it… until over 30 years later – and then it was by accident. After reading a YA series to my kids a “what if” question about that story popped into my head and gathered ideas. I created a story from it just in my head (not written) simply to entertain myself while bedridden for a few days. The chronology was getting a little confusing in my head so I sat at my computer to write a simple time-line.. and somehow instead I accidently wrote the first scene, and then another, and then another. For a week I was writing while telling myself to stop wasting time writing fan-fiction that would not be publishable – but I could not stop. I wrote for a year, nearly every day, and thought about little else.
Though unfinished life intervened and I did not write much over the next 2 years.
But in those 2 years my life started imitating my art! I had a relationship that spookily resembled the one I gave my MC. I experienced similar angst and joys that I inflicted on her. There were even a couple of names that were very eerily the same!
I am also writing a memoir about that relationship so now I have two WIP begging to be finished.
NOVEL: historical (sort of), fantasy (sort of), erotic romance I guess
MEMOIR: obviously modern, non-fiction, about love, sex, marriage, relationships and how they impact on each other
