Well, here goes nothing. I'm new here, and the magic of a forum is a great mystery to me. But, regardless, I think I've actually managed to post something. Is is true? Is this what it is to post something? Other than that, I'm happy to be amongst like minded people.

Welcome. It's true, you've figured it out. A word of caution, though. Be careful using your newfound skills on other Internet forums, as many are not nearly as friendly as this one.

Welcome from another recent newbie to you, Nick, and Tristann! I've been here a few weeks and still haven't caught up on all the stickies.
Most excellent! Well, good to know. As they say, "sticks and stones may break my bones, but random people on the internet shouting obscenities and racial slurs for no reason erodes my faith in humanity." I think that's how it went. Thank you for being the first to make contact! It's pleasure to meet you.
Well "Write" is currently a strong term for it. I've tried my hand at a few plays and screenplays, and now I'm going for SciFi.

Plays and screenplays sound challenging, I wouldn't know where to start! SciFi feels particularly relevant to the world today, with technology and politics changing at such a fast pace. It can be exciting and a lot of the time gut-wrenching and frightening. Perfect inspiration for stories
.I mentioned on my newbie thread that I like playing DnD (my hubby is running an awesome campaign based on the Fallout video game universe at the moment). Currently I'm reading (or maybe studying would be a better word) The Book of Imaginary Beings by Borges, LOVE that. And it might seem a little odd but the recent ascension of the Cardinal Copia persona for the frontman of the band Ghost inspired me to write a short story. That mask is so creepy.

Please do! I always think it's cathartic to have someone to call a jerk without consequence, hence the name. And the brain? Well, as far as I can tell, it's a thing you use to beat against a desk/wall when you can't think of anything to write.
