sound of a cello

wind sang
like a cello
across
boat bow

music
of the sea

gulls
on wet waves
mimicked
the mew
of motions

tide
tugged fish
afar

buoys
looted breeze
of secrets
bells
bonged
its night
shanty


I paused
rested
on my shoes
loafed
in my garments

the jetty
was spread
like a chronic
of rock

I heard the cry
before ever
bird
passed by

a long moan
of lonely
searching for
a mate


I wanted to help
but knew
his hung cry
had gone


a bird
searching
for his
love
