No, not Ingrid, but thanks for trying. Here's another hint:

One of three of nine.

(Actually, that hint is practically a giveaway. )

...what's more, she looks nothing like that photo today. :greenie

Congratulations, Shakey! :Trophy:

Improbable as it seems, it is Ruth Bader (later Ruth Bader Ginsburg) in a college photo. Despite the changes time has wrought in her appearance, the beauty of her mind remains. :greenie

:Trophy: Yes, Shakey, it's Melania!

ETA: Your new one leaves me clueless. Is there a face somewhere? I think I'm missing something.

Maybe that was too weird. Sorry. He is called "The Sorcerer" and is a cave painting from France. He was painted about 13,000 years ago. The book was about three boys who found a cave with stone age art and tools. I loved that story. Later I think the drawing was on the back cover of John Fowler's The Magus. It has always fascinated me. Very mysterious--s6

Is that the answer--"The Sorcerer"? Or are we supposed to name an author? In any case, it reminds me of those fabulous Lascaux paintings, and I start thinking, not for the first time, of the amazingly developed artistic and mental abilities of people who lived some 20,000 years ago. Maybe they had something on us.

Meanwhile, here's another easy one:

Not McCain...but you're looking in the right direction. Actually, you should look more in the left direction.

The only black drummer I know is Clyde Stubblefield, who I don't think this is.

I probably know more, I just haven't ever seen pictures. Any other guesses would be random.

At first I was stumped. Then I began to think that this guy (wearing 1950s clothes) was not principally a drummer, but something else. An athlete? A singer? And eventually that led me to identify him as...(drum roll!!!)...

James Brown

Here's one that may take a little thinking, though you know him very well.
