So let's give this introductory post a shot shall we?
I'm a 20-something-year-old inspiring writer (isn't everyone?) who works in the film business but prefers books to films. My favourite genres are fantasy, young adult and autobiographies. But I also have a strange addiction to books about North Korea. I'm currently working on a YA fantasy trilogy, that is 2/3 done. I'm searching for a Beta for the first, editing the second and writing the third hopefully sometime this year. I was suggested this forum by a member of /r/writing on reddit who said this was a good place to find Beta's, since I've been struggling to find one on Goodreads and Fictionpress.. But I'm also here to make friends, as none of my close friends have read a book since they were forced to in school and it would be nice to have someone to talk to about novels and writing. I beta read for fantasy and young adult and do swaps so I'm looking forward to getting stuck into to your stories and sharing tips and advice.
I'm currently reading Peter Pan by J.M Barrie and On Writing by Stephen King. I've never read a Stephen King book before but I'm really enjoying On Writing and I'm learning so much about the writing process.

Best of luck on the trilogy! So if I’m reading that right, you’re two books finished of the three?

Welcome to AW!

Kinda. The first is finished and awaiting Beta critique, I've had it looked at by two different Beta's but I'm want it looked at by a few more before I try and get it published.
The second is in the editing phase.
I'm currently writing the third now.
