Hi everyone, my name is Katy. I'm British, living in the north of England. I have loved reading and writing all my life but have only just now started what I hope will be my first complete manuscript that I can share with the world. I have two small kids who are super cute but make it very difficult for me to write as much as I would like!

I tutor English, teach online and have an MA in Modern Literature. I was going to do a PhD but ran out of money and realised I need to get this book out of me before I can do anything else with my life. It's a sci fi/speculative fiction and I feel pretty isolated and have so many questions and no-one around to ask, hence why I joined here.

Looking forward to getting to know some of you and sharing inspiration.

Hi Katy, good to have you here. Yeah, for all the great writers the UK has had (and still has), when it comes to author circles, it always surprises me how little we have. There's very little in my area. It's a good place here, though.

Best of luck and I hope you find the inspiration and support you're looking for here. I'm new here myself, but this looks like a good place to experience a writing community.
