Cam - Another newbie

Good evening everyone, my name is Cam and I am a fresh joiner. I'm very new to the creative writing world and I have only ever written poetry and academic papers until now. I am taking a stab at writing a novel (mixture of genres) because it's always been a dream of mine.

As a writer I am very much a beginner. I have so much to learn that I don't even know what I don't know. I am an avid reader of drama, mystery, suspense, and a little sci-fi. Sometimes a mix of them all in one. I also love to golf (that one I'm pretty decent at) and I work in the IT world. I'm really looking forward to learning from you all!

Thank you all for the kind words and welcome! I will definitely be reading up and learning what I can. Don't worry regdog, I am in no rush to the 50 posts. I am only ever to write a few posts a day with my busy schedule, so I plan to make those posts count. Thank you all again!

Hiya Cam! Nice to meet you. Don't worry about being able to write mate, haha, I don't! If you love it just go for it. If you have literally just started out can I recommend a book for you? ('am just going to assumed you've nodded haha) Okay "On Writing" by Stephen King. He won't teach you how to write but he'll tell you what worked for him and maybe get your own creative juices going.
