A Small-Town Writer in PA

Hello, everyone! My name is Jessica, and I am a 24-year-old writer finally working on getting herself out into the world (rather than the 5,000 people in my little town). I fell in love with writing when I was 8 years old and never stopped ever since. Whether it is poetry, music journalism, or marketing writing, I always keep myself busy with some sort of project. (I guess it runs in the family since my grandfather was an editor for the Brooklyn Daily News branch before he retired.)

I love reading just about anything except romance. (I will even read children's books.) However, I have a special place in my heart for horror/thriller novels, poetry, and plays. Though I may love reading novels, I tend to stray from writing any myself and focus more on poems, plays, and short stories. I don't get a ton of time to beta read between my own creative work and my day job in technical support, but I love beta reading when I am available; being a part of someone's creative process is a fun experience.

Other than writing, I really enjoy both traditional glam makeup and special effects horror makeup. I also play video games online pretty often.

@Chase - My current town is bigger than the one I used to live in! My actual town population growing up was 3,000. I was raised in the Poconos, so that explains a lot.

@sandree - Good to know someone is somewhat nearby! I live closer to Allentown and Bethlehem. However, I did go to school closer to Reading at Kutztown.

Hello Inti! I pretty much only play PC, since my boyfriend is always logged in on the PS4 and I don't dare log him out haha. I play just about anything that captures my interest. I like battle royale games like PUBG, Dead By Daylight, RPGs like Skyrim, silly multiplayer games with friends like Golf With Your Friends and Gang Beasts, etc. My love of music even exceeds my love of gaming. (Doesn't beat my love for writing, but pretty darn close.)
