I had recently thrown a song in the mix of The Great AW Song Chain that was the love theme from Footloose.

Naturally, my mind went back to the movie (not the re-make, the original! LOL), and remembered there was a music box the girl gave the guy. It got my mind wondering - how on earth did they make that music box to play the same notes as the song, and if you could make your own music box. I should clarify that I am likely never going to do this, but was just curious about it...so off to Google I went and came across this video on YouTube. Not only was it informative and educational, but it was interesting and cool too!

A music box is simply a mechanical disk or drum with bumps or holes that trigger specific lengths of metal wire to produce a note at a given time. Put the bumps or holes in the right place and it works.
