Hey y'all!

My name's Che, and I'm a writer from Nashville, Tennessee. I've been telling stories for as long as I can remember-- and writing them down for almost eleven years now!
I love writing and reading all sorts of stuff, but recently I've been leaning more heavily into a weird sort of southern gothic/americana type of thing. I particularly like stories that take familiar things and turn them on their heads.

I'm new here, having not put too much time into finding writing communities before-- but now I figure I might as well dive in! I'm excited to meet some folks!

:welcome:

Someone's up late tonight. You found an excellent community to join; LOADS of helpful people. I too like stories where things are known and made unique. Reminds me of Revenge of the Nerds and Cinderella.

In another thread, you told someone that Bugtussle is in Tennessee. It was a town Granny and the Clampett's (The Beverly Hillbillies) had on the show (well, a back lot version of it) on the series. I always thought it was a fictitious town. I will have to visit one day!

EDIT: I checked some.... Apparently, there's a Bugtussle, Kentucky (on the TN border). Kinda takes the fun away, a little.

Nice genre you've developed interest in. Not that yours is so much of a niche genre, but I've also specialized into presenting effective amateur detectives who have what society deems "handicaps."

Best of luck turning southern gothic and Americana upside-down.

:welcome: to the foray. :greenie

Someone's up late tonight.

I work the night shift at my school's library. Lots of late nights on the internet.

EDIT: I checked some.... Apparently, there's a Bugtussle, Kentucky (on the TN border). Kinda takes the fun away, a little.

Upon further examination, there also appear to be Bugtussle, AL, OK, and TX. Although the Beverly Hillbillies one is fictional.

Welcome! I'm new myself, so maybe we'll be able to bounce off of each other. I'd be interested to see what you come up with. :)
