People on the fence - don't be afraid to steal borrow a prompt from one of the many prompt places of the internet. Find something you're like "hey! I w ant to see what people will do with this!" Tweak it (or don't) and slap it down in your sign-up.

Where do you think I took the Seven Dwarves on Strike idea from? ;)

Yeah, my prompts are startlingly unoriginal and I'm still fine with them. If you really wanted to entertain JA, I'd suggest a prompt along the lines of "[Random non sequitur] is the name of my [musical subgenre] band".

I think Justo just figured out his prompt (no backsies).

Fine!

I have teetered on the edge, and since my CampNoWriMo is on track....What the hell...here we go:

Prompt 1.) Write an SF/F story featuring the band called Random Non-Sequitur.

Prompt 2.) Jonathan Coulton's song Merry Christmas from Chiron Beta Prime

And just so not all of my prompts are musical:

Prompt 3.) The gods have died, as they do every few centuries. Mortals compete in various ways to take a place for themselves in the new pantheon.

You know me too well. I do indeed approve.

Woo hoo! We have 12 players - so far! And there's still just over a week to go!

C'mon, Lil! You can do it! Just start off with - What if...

I need to see if I have another couple prompts floating around in my brain.

Ok, I'll jump in. (For why it took this long, well, see Prompt 2. :tongue )

***

Prompt 1:
A sports story where the SFF element is not the sport involved. So — the team of scrappy underdog kids and someone’s Granny with the Sight. The storied championship powerhouse and the multiverse scandal. Etc. Pick your tropes and mix-match to taste.

Prompt 2:
Someone has to make a decision. It doesn't seem like anything that significant, but this decision has Consequences well out of proportion to the actual situation. (I.e., the anxiety was actually right this time.)

Prompt 3:
This one’s a picture prompt.

(full size here)

What is it? It's something SFF. It's desperately important to someone. Beyond that — that's the story.

I'm assuming that if a prompt strikes us as one we really want to do, even if it doesn't get voted into the top three, we have the ability to Bonus submission it by the deadline. Not that anyone would Maggie Maxwell every prompt, but if they did, that would be OK right?

My luck is if my name ever becomes a verb it will be associated with some negative action. "Aww, man he Justobuddied it, that's going to cost him a lot of lost time."

Only five more days for sign-ups. If you know someone who's dithering about signing up, give them a nudge. :D

Gold star.

I hereby define "to bobo" as "to make up really outrageous and over the top shit that is so awesome that EVERYBODY FEARS HOW MUCH THEY LOVE ME AND BOWS TO MEEEEE"

ONE BOBO TO RULE THEM ALL!

Guys, there are only a few days left to sign up for Sequel Sisyphus! Now's the time to drag in all the last minute laggards! Yes! Come on! Let's go!

In my house “to bobo” means “to daydream and miss what’s happening in front of you”. :)

*checks calendar* I might be able to pull this off...

Prompt 1: connect the dots: depth, giant salamander, cog, lacquer and orbit.

Prompt 2: A god grants a peculiar request. Any god, any request.

Here's a second prompt from me:

You are the last of a long line of Watchers over a sleeping being. The being awakens either by accident or design. Is it as expected i.e. as written in the histories of your race? What happens?
