Is everyone excited? I know I am! (and I wanted to put a bouncy smiley here, but every time I try, my browser closes on me grrrr) I can't wait to get started writing something!

Wow, you guys are on the ball today! Only 4 voters remaining!

There seems to be a clear winner emerging, but the last few votes could turn this game on its head! We might even know our winner today, based on the very next vote, but only voting will tell!

*bites nails*

I have to say, I am just so pleased that everyone is so excited for this! I really needed something good, and this is very good!

Guys, I'm actually sitting here refreshing this page like mad!

Well, technically, it IS tomorrow here in Aussieland. :)

BUT, I think if we get one more vote, we'll have a winner and could post the prompts. Barring that, the prompts could be posted as soon as 2pm Eastern Australia time. :)

Damn future world timey wimey shenanigans.

I will say this. Chances are that the prompt that is winning now will win, and chances are that the next vote WILL be the deciding one.

BUT you never know, it could turn out otherwise given what they vote for, and we can't confirm officially!

Sorry! I have now voted. I repped Jay R. :)

Last night with the parents. I fly home tomorrow.

I’m more hopeful knowing that we have 2.5 months to write. (Headaches last time lasted almost a month)

I'm here! But you repped the other Jay. *g*

Fingers crossed you don't have a month of headaches when you go home, Bry. That'd suck mightily (and not in the good way).

Aaaaaand we now have enough votes to have a clear winner!

Below are the 3 prompts that got the most votes. You may now begin writing!

Stories are due July 31st (EST). Guessing will begin August 1st.

1. Elves, of the Tolkien variety (so… tall, pretty, wise, immortal) in genres where they don’t belong. Examples: gothic horror, cyberpunk, post-apocalyptic. Whatever you want, as long as it’s not high fantasy.

2.
In this fantasy word, there’s an old good luck charm: Speak to the moon every night as you’re falling asleep and she will protect you. Out of childlike comfort, your MC has been talking to the moon for years. Nothing more than a familiar habit. But then one night, your MC wakes up to a moonlike-humanoid-goddess standing in the bedroom. She says, "I'm in trouble. I've listened to you every night and out of all my followers, you have the skills to salvage this. Come with me."

3.
Start your story with this line: The only two ways of escaping the Kings prison were good behavior and suicide.

Twist! Did not see those coming.

Don't shred it. There's nothing to say you can't writing something for one of the other prompts in addition to the official story. :)

I still expect to see that accursed meme story! *taps foot*

Totes not the ones I expected.

*shreds 117 pages of ms.*

Don't shred it! Write it and share it!

This. The more the merrier!
