G'day! Yes it is a nice place. Rather sleepy but easier to get around than somewhere like Sydney or Melbourne. I was born in Sydney though so I do like there too. :)

The best tweet I've seen today was along the lines of: "#BatmanVotes and #BallTampering are both trending things in Australia, but neither means what you think."

Yo, I hail from Melbourne.

Been an expat for twenty years, though. Melbourne's weather sucks.

I'm more into tennis than cricket.

I'm not from Oz but I feel much closer as QF9, the first non-stop, scheduled flight from Perth, landed this morning (within earshot of my house) - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-43530332

It will be leaving again in less than four hours as QF10 - which, I think, has been an A380 Airbus up until now and, when the wind's coming from the West, a pretty reliable indicator that it's coffee time - I hope the dreamliner makes enough noise to remind me to put the kettle on (c:

G'day, mate.

G'day!

actually, realising that "down under" is only a 17 hour flight and ten minute taxi ride away is quite awe-inspiring and makes me wonder why I have never been! No.1 son first went when he was three and has been a couple of times since. I've got "family-by-marriage-although-now-divorced-so-does-that-still-count...-yes-they're-Italian" way down in Melbourne!
