Greetings everyone!
I'm new to AW, but I've known about it for years. Call me a lurker if you may. Interestingly (or not so interestingly), I've been a big podcast nerd (Writing Excuses is my favorite so far) when it comes to the discussion of the craft, but after my professor recommended the forum I'm traversing a new medium here. After browsing just a few of the Sticky posts thus far, I am not disappointed.
A little bit about myself I guess, I'm 23-year-old student majoring in Creative Writing. I've been trying to publish my work since I was sixteen, but thus far have only five small publication credits to my name. It's a start, but I'm looking to really study writing and find out what it is that I need to do in order to make my fiction work. Even good writers have room (there is always room) for improvement. I primarily write literary fiction but enjoy melting heavy subgenres like psychological horror, science-fiction, and suspense, into my work. A good example of what I mean can be found with Mark Z. Danielewski's novel House of Leaves.
Anyway, it's really nice to meet everybody here. I'm hoping to learn a lot, elevate my writing, and in turn contribute what I know/learn with the community, who all seem really supportive and knowledgeable thus far.
