Hi everyone. Very excited to join you all on this journey and I hope I can help and be helped along the way.

I've been dabbling with writing since I was a little kid, often starting something before losing my way and putting the project aside. I got into writing a lot during my college years and found myself torn between my major (Computer Science) and Creative Writing. I eventually took the Computer Science path and while I've enjoyed my career, I always had this sense of something missing. Thinking about it, I believe it's the sense of joy I got from creating worlds, characters and situations and putting them down on the page.

I'm here to work on the craft and hopefully eventually get published.

I'm excited to work with you all and join this community.

Hello other new fishy fish!
That's rather similar to the path that I'm taking now, though I am a bit later on the college bandwagon than I feel I should be, it's hard to me to decide where I should be going with it. My original plan was medical coding, then xray tech, then ultrasound, dental hygienist was and option at some point, but now I'd really like to get back to my roots.

My, harder to achieve but so much more fulfilling roots.

Computer Science is cool though. I wonder if you could combine what you know with what you love and come up with something spectacular.

I envy computer gurus. You've made the writing process easier for many of us. Best of luck in your serious branching into the creative aspects. :welcome:, Dan!

Hey!
I started my college days in 2011 as a Computer Science major. I tried for over four years, like four and a half, to make it work. I wasn't good at it. Long story short, I changed to writing, then English and Writing. Three changes in what will be over seven years of undergraduate studies when I finish in just over a year - the end of next March.

I love computers and technology. I understand a fair amount of basic stuff. Barely remember my coding..... if else statements, for loops, cin and cout, hello world, public and private classes, which I didn't fully understand, and perhaps a few other small details.
