Hi, I'm LouFDC. I write fiction, poetry, and non-fiction. I'm aiming to become a novelist.
I've never joined a forum, so I'm not sure how to get around the site yet. I hope you guys help me with that.
I joined because I wanted to get people to read and critique my work so I can get better. I'll try my best to help you guys with your stuff too

Read the sticky notes in each subforum. If you want to focus on novels, but have not taken formal instruction of the mechanics, view the topic with the word "Alaska" in the title (new member forum). I posted Brandon Sanderson videos. These will help you a great deal, if you are unsure of the structure of novel writing.

Regdog will post some wonderful info to investigate.

Thanks, Enlightened! I'll definitely check it out. Right now, I'm just writing short stories, poems, and personal essays though. I haven't had the time to write anything lengthy.

I, too, segued into writing novels from short stories in college and grad school and later bi-weekly articles for local newspapers. It seemed to be a logical progression. :greenie
