Hello From Alaska!

Hello everyone!

I stumbled upon the website a few weeks ago while looking up agents reputations, and I must say it has been a wonderful tool! I am a first time writer, having completed my first novel in November of 2017. Since then, I've begun the tedious work of submitting to a few agents every couple of months, critiquing my own work, and revamping my queries in an attempt to catch eyes, with no luck.

I am looking forward to the advice, guidance, and hopefully new friendships I'll find on this website, and I'm excited to offer my own feedback, however small it may be.

I lived in Fairbanks for a few years, at the turn of the century. Wonderful place for naturists!

I'd recommend watching Brandon Sanderson videos on YouTube. Not just the 2016 videos, but the videos dating back to 2012 as well. Although the older videos have the same titles, they offer a lot more information on the subjects. These videos will help you see flaws in your writing, your query letters, and a host of things that may not register to you at the moment.

Else, there are a lot of great people here. You will need 50 posts to share your work for critique and suggestions to improve. Regdog will post info on that shortly.

The videos are long (hour+), but once you start watching them, they go by quick. I watch ESPN3.com live sport events online, muted, while listening to them and talking notes. Easy to pass the time.

I do not know if he did a 2017 series or not. He's been doing the class since 2004, and started uploading them, for free, in 2012.

Yes, very isolated. I never cared for the higher prices from shipping products to the state, but the dividend checks and no sales tax are nice.

It's very beautiful! If you ever come, come in May. Tourist season doesn't take effect until June, so you get cheap prices with all the beauty!
