Early in my career (I'm a retired old man now) an older writer gave me advice about handling rejection. He showed me a long string of mobiles he had made with his rejection slips early on. So I decided to make a collage out of mine, which I did for the 18 mos or so before I started publishing in the lit mags with some regularity. I still have the two collages I made! I am proud of them. And, get this, I found myself DESIRING certain rejection slips/cards to help the project, as in, Hey, anyone know who gives blue rejection cards? It was a great distraction to keep me writing without worrying too much about rejection because rejection was put to positive use.

Ha, what a positive way to turn rejection into art!

Me? I know exactly what to do with my rejection e-mails: copy them on the inside of our toilet bowls so I can give them all the attention they deserve. :tongue

Awww, that's such a lovely idea! Makes me wish I had some hardcopy rejection slips instead of all emails!
