I am having tornados. Power is out. Internet is erratic.

But I have written 200 words of outline, and 750 words of prose.

Reporting in on my sci-fi manuscript:
Total words: 128,000. Need to edit it down to a more comfortable 120,000.
This week, mainly did research ahead of time about query letters, agents, writing and critiquing circles, and joined this site because I need quality feedback. Also learning more about paragraph structure (as its quite contrary to non-fiction work), what words shouldn't be used in novels (sometimes/that/suddenly/very/just etc.), and to develop a beginning hook. (Man determining a good, unique hook is freaking tough!)

Today: edited chapter one after all that research. How the heck did it take an entire day to edit one chapter?? Yikes.

Checking in late, but: 1012 words, which is something, and a submission. (Thanks for the safe wishes, regdog; we're in crunch week, so I haven't really had much time online to say so earlier.)

This is awesome! I'm all about using pressure and stress to make myself work. I mean that, sincerely.

Since I started the book two weeks ago I have had some very good days with lots of progress. This week I had one day with over 1800 words and have totaled for the week at:

6,024 words!

Less than last week, but still good! I blame it on the move, which finishes tomorrow.

I can't believe that I am back here and recognize so many of you. I'm sorry I missed out on so much.(struck down by a critical illness) I have sold three books, and I am currently doing the final arc for the print version of a romance. I find it very hard to work now, but I'm going for it, step by step, editing, blurbing and writing author info.

Welcome back. Glad that you're recovering and getting back into writing
