Is it possible for a foreigner to publish a book in US or UK?

I'm not from US or UK but I want to publish my book there. Since many people can use English and the market in my country isn't so good. So is it possible? I heard that you have to go there when your book is published if you're not there won't be a deal.

Publishers like authors to take part in promotional events when their books are published. But for lots of books, this isn't possible: for example, books which are written by authors who don't live in the country of publication.

It happens all the time. Don't worry about it.

I have friends whose books are published in upwards of twenty countries. They can't visit all of them. Their books sell well because their agents ensure they're published by good publishers.
