Delirious December - 500 words per day - edit/writing all genres welcome

Better day today - 2,115 words, and I finished my redone chapter. Whee!

Go, Covenant!

I revised a chapter and added 745 words. Now it's 3,000 words long, which is kinda long, but this is a first revision of a rough draft, so okay, fine for now.

2,304 added today.

I figured out if I assume the draft is going to come in at about 135K, I'll need to either write or revise about 2,400 words/day to get through it all by the end of January.

If only the actual words were as easy as the arithmetic.

Wrote 2,487 today, so I'm on target for one day in a row!

I am creeping forwards, broke the 48k mark this morning. I emptied a whole bucket of "rule of cool" onto this chapter. Going to need to be a little more grounded in the next few bits...

I wrote 2,841 new words today. I should be able to reuse a chunk for the next chapter, but I'm not sure how it's going to go after that - I'm moving a reveal way up in the story, so the rough stuff I wrote afterward is not all going to be relevant anymore. Ugh. I can already tell this one is going to need another major revision before it gets into tweaking-the-pacing mode.

Between new words and revisions, I got through another 2,715 today. I've kind of lost track of one subplot, but it'll come back. I can smooth everything out in the next revision.

I revised/wrote 2,475 today. Working hard to remind myself it's still an early draft so some meandering is OK as long as the direction stays consistent.

Less productive today, but I did write 984 new words.

I wrote no words today, but I did drive through sleet to do the grocery shopping, and there was cleaning. (We are having people tomorrow.)

Puny number of words today, because a) Christmas stuff, and b) I fell on the ice this morning and sprained my wrist (yes, on my dominant side, ugh).

Apart from that, we weathered the holiday ok, I think, even though the Big Gift I got for The Kid has been delayed.

Wrist is much better today. Still behind my target word count, but I did get in 1,631 words.

Also started another Goodreads giveaway. I hope I'll be able to properly sign them when the time's up...

I'm still in the midst of Christmas obligations, but hoping I'll get some words tomorrow. I need another five hundred or so to hit my target, which seems doable.

Wrote some new stuff + moved some things around = 3,064 words processed today.

Warning: I have had champagne and am currently silly.

I haven't written much over the last few days, but I did get some very useful beta feedback on my other WIP. Been thinking of how to proceed there.

Also, since this was my last day to meet my meager "two blog post in December" goal, I wrote a blog post.

I snuck in some writing while I was at the in-laws' yesterday and ended 2017 with a very round 50k

It was a hell of a year, wasn't it? Let's hope 2018 is a good one.
