Uluru closing to climbers.

Just resurrecting this thread because this is making the news:

Uluru climb closure looms as region nears breaking point with overflow of tourists, 'influx of waste'.

It's going to get worse as the October deadline gets closer.

And, the bandwagoners, who were never particularly interested in Uluru, but want to make some sort of a point by climbing it before it closes.*
* Note to whoever guards closed mountains - right after it closes, there will be a bunch of idiots who want to climb it illicitly, just for the lulz. Break their knees and leave them for the dingoes.

(I think the use of Gideon as a name is linked to old mate at the IPA who didn't believe that Wake in Fright was about toxic masculinity.)

Ah, yes, 'larrikin', that convenient Australian word used to describe the kind of person normally described by the kind of words we try not to use on AW. Or, polite company.
