I'm doing some work for my Master's and there's a particular article I remember reading that would really help me with my argument, but I can't find it and I was hoping that maybe somebody here remembers seeing it.
The article was either written by an author, or off an interview done with her. The gist of it was that she had written this book with a female protagonist, but her editors kept saying the MC was unlikable and a "B****" The author didn't agree, so instead of making the changes, she gave the MC a male name, changed their pronouns, and handed back the same draft claiming she did "rewrites," which her editors loved.
Has anybody read this and know where I could find it, or remember reading it and know who the author was? Because I would really like to include it in my research for this project.
Thank you!
