I'm hoping to restore things sooner, in which case I'll let folks know. But we really really want to re-index all the posts, and that alone could take a day or so.

Same. :) I even wrote a note to myself, (in all caps for emphasis, because procrastinator procrastinates) to use the time well.

I appreciate that I am not running a contest during this server move. I remember having lots of fun running the Beta Project during one.

Also, AW has been my main writing distraction lately (that's not always true), so it's good to have an excuse to not check out new posts when I'm supposed to be writing.

Sorry about that. We kind of have to seize the moment when shawkins, MacAllister and I can work it out with the ISP. And it involves three people, two of which are on the opposite coast of the other.

And on top of that, I've got seriously limited net access. Just hope that we don't have any serious snow this week. Or freezing rain.

Remember to save stuff in case there's some kind of Twitter-induced nuclear war that slows AW Admin and Mac and all getting us back up and running (though it'd probly not slow them much) or something!

Also remember to get your projects ready for the delay -- I suggest starting a novel about what happens when a Twitter-induced nuclear war slows down resurrection of a writing site and the writers take to the rest of the interwebs and end up bringing down the current regime and installing a small, innocuous cereal flake as supreme leader. But, you know, whatever.

During the move the AW web page showed that its last message was "AW Forums Are Back!", which may have provoked the sort of ping deluge you guys wanted to avoid. If one examined that message carefully, it was dated 2011...
