Since I started my ice cream channel, I've really become a student of some of the professionals on Youtube who have channels.

I was curious if anybody here had a favorite they followed.

Some of my favorites are:

Food Wishes -- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRIZtPl9nb9RiXc9btSTQNw

Chef Steps, even though it's turned into a sales pitch for their sous vide device. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxD2E-bVoUbaVFL0Q3PvJTg

Happy Wok -- I'm pretty sure this is a retired cook from a Chinese place. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaUR4ViaAVLLzKQ2ex6u1Sg

Almazan Kitchen -- These guys have some of the best visuals on Youtube. Really. Just incredible videos to watch and no narration at all. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVVAnxQ2YMC_qlc7QfPA2YQ

Bruno Albouze -- French pastry chef in California. He's a bit hammy and a bit cheesy, but his videos are incredible. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRPWH2YmwgbVGz6zJZG1afA

Cooking With Dog -- Japanese cooking. This channel has a cult following. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpprBWvibvmOlI8yJOEAAjA

Maangchi -- Korean. I lived in Korea and this lady's channel is spot-on. Plus, she explains things very well. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8gFadPgK2r1ndqLI04Xvvw

Those are some of the channels I check out regularly. If you have any, I'd love to see which ones.

P.S.-- A link to my own is in my sig line. I'm trying to build up viewers and subscribers, so if you feel charitable, please subscribe. Thank you.

I like HellthyJunkFood. https://www.youtube.com/user/hellthyjunkfood/
It's a comedic channel that cooks healthier versions of fast/chain restaurant/junk foods.
I haven't cooked any of their food, but I keep meaning to. One of my favorite videos of theirs involves explaining how to make Drunk Twinkies in a story format reminiscent of "The Night Before Christmas", completely in rhyme, with some asides. ("Now add a teaspoon of vodka...or add a shit-ton of booze and be that drunk relative everyone makes fun of at a party.")

In fair Verona, where we lay our scene.
I love Maangchi and Food Wishes! Another favorite go-to is Laura Vitale's channel, Laura in the Kitchen. She's Italian and occasionally features recipes from her childhood, but her offerings run the gamut from homemade versions of your favorite snack cakes to coconut curry pumpkin soup and spelt bread.

I follow Sorted Food, Alex French Guy Cooking (relatively new to him), Cooking with Dog, Maangchi, Serious Eats/ J. Kenji Lopez Alt (two separate channels, sometimes there's overlap), and Binging with Babish. (guy who makes food from tv and movies) Husband and I are also trying to start our own food and gaming crossover youtube channel, but its been slow going.

The Domestic Geek and The Stay at Home Chef

Both are super perky and a lot of fun. The Domestic Geek isn't very geeky, honestly, but she makes a lot of really healthy meals (and some not so healthy ones) I'm super new at cooking, like the closest thing to a herb in my mom's house is garlic, and what even is a 'superfood'? So I've had to do a lot of experimenting and these two make it look so easy that even I could do it. I actually went out and bought kale the other day because she used it in some recipes that looked good and I guess it's pretty good for you. A few months ago I'd only ever heard of kale because you could grow it in Stardew Valley (a farming sim game.)

The Stay at Home Chef doesn't have as many recipes I'm interested in, so I don't watch hers as much, but she does neat little videos like sheet cake sized smores or tortilla making robots.

There was a show in Canada for a while called Food Jammers and their thing was making machines that cooked different stuff. I wish I had their budget.

I'm thinking of starting a Patreon so I can get a budget for my channel. Heavy cream is expensive and so is everything else these days. I can't keep spending all the money I'm blowing through to make all of the various stuff I'm making.

I started watching "Taste the Islands" on YouTube after I learned of the program on PBS. Mostly Jamaican food, but I think they cover some other island fare as well; not sure.

I've always liked Babish. I used to watch him when he was just Binging with Babish, but now he's built a bit of a foodie empire online and has featured on some Netflix shows, etc. He's really good for basic recipes and also does meals from movies / TV shows / etc.

The Sorted Food gang are fun and light-hearted. They're a group of friends from uni who have been running a YouTube channel for about 10 years. The basic set up is that 2 of them are professional chefs and the other 3 are 'normals'. Lots of recipe challenges, cooking tips, ingredient and gadget reviews, etc.
