Hi everyone. I'm Malchy and in a nutshell, I'm a Dutch/Zulu American :) My life spans across 3 different continents however, I wont bore you with those details. I'd rather talk about murder and mystery or evil gods and magic!

I'd like to say I'm a writer, but in truth my portfolio consists of 2 mediocre short stories. But I had so much fun writing them! Its the journey to the end that just makes it so enjoyable to me. However, wanting and knowing how to do something are completely different things, so I decided to scour the internet and hopefully gain some tips and insights on how to turn my desire to write, into actual written words. Decent ones, preferably!

This site seems to tick so many boxes (if not all the boxes) so I cannot think of a better place to start.

Hiya, Malchy. Liking the process of writing is a large part of being able to stick to it long enough to get pretty good, so that's a major plus for you.

Maryn, pleased to make your acquaintance

Welcome Malchy...I believe it was King who said the first key writing is to write. I'm, not sure if the was Martin Luther King, Don King the fight promoter, or Stephen King, but I'll go out a limb and guess it was the last person mentioned. Personally, I write on the fly, no pesky out-lines or planning whatsoever. I've written twelve novels in this fashion and they turned out spectacularly mediocre. Anyway, take one the aforementioned King's advice and simply sit down and write whenever the mood strikes...you might be surprised where it takes you...good luck...

Hi Malchy.

A couple/few short stories is where I am at also. The first fiction I ever wrote - which was a month ago - was erotica... something I can never share with anybody. I might destroy it forever. I'd like to read your short stories some day.
