Poets who let themselves lose sight
of those for whom they claim to write
move through the night like phantoms
frantically ranting the end of the world
and pissing in the street.

Love it!
"...phantoms / frantically ranting..." is beautiful when read aloud.

In the Castle, of course.
I keep coming back and rereading this, William. I haven't commented because I am puzzling over the message.

But the poem itself? It's very well written. Pure William through and through, which makes it quite enjoyable. Thank you for sharing it.

Inspirational William. It has the ring of a famous quote, or a maxim.

the commentary is brilliant but my favorite thing is your rhyme doing all the work of changing your rhythm.

A Haskins signature, but I actually think, if possible, you might be getting better at it.

I know. right?
