In my nightly rituals, Jeopardy is often the viewing preference and it struck me how often literature references/categories come up. That got me to thinking that it might be fun to create an AW version for our own learning/entertainment.

The first person to get the question right gets to post the next question. To start things off, today's final Jeopardy category/question was:

A 2016 biography of a children’s author is titled “In the Great Green Room”, a line from this classic book

Meh - just means you've got wisdom the rest of us don't :) Feel free to give up the answer and go with another question (in Lyrics too) - it's not about the thread per se, more just about a diversion for fun.

We do have fun from time to time, right?

Oh geez, ok here's another final Jeopardy from a week or so back and the only reason I remember it is because it was on my 2017 Reading List! :)

An homage to a 1953 novel, this number appears as an error code when a user tries to access a web page with censored content.

This renowned physicist was so absent-minded he once used a $1500 check from the Rockefeller Foundation as a bookmark -- and then lost the book.

The only physicist I can think of, renowned or otherwise, is Albert Einstein. That answer would be too obvious though so it's likely wrong. Can I guess Sheldon Cooper from the Big Bang Theory? If not, I'll punt to someone else...

I remember my dad telling me this anecdote about Einstein. I have no other source, though.

Whoever wants it next can take it!

Well, since I didn't think it was right, that means the only other person who said it gets to go: Myrealana - that's you! :)

Oh man. I was just providing confirmation of the previous answer...

Um....

This 1982 epistolary novel was adapted into a 1985 movie starring Whoopi Goldberg.

So, given the time window, Whoopie Goldberg was in two popular movies in the 80's that I remember: Ghost and The Color Purple

Since the former was likely not a book first, I am gonna guess the latter, but don't know if the movie title and the book title are the same as I only saw the movie and have never read the book.

Never mind Marissa beat me to it! LOL

I knew the name of the Poe story in which the character first appears, but couldn't remember his name. Had to Google. That's a good quiz question, Marissa.

Great question Marissa - I think you stumped us. Care to reveal, and offer a new question? :)

The question was "In this story." You don't need the detective's name.

This Dickens character begins his tale saying "Whether I shall turn out to be the hero of my own life, or whether that station will be held by anybody else, these pages must show."

(Also, the board is giving me fits this morning.)

The only one I can think of that makes any sense is David Copperfield, but just a guess as I've never read it. Isn't the book written in the style of narration?
