It seems that up until a couple of years ago there was a semi-thriving Jewish scene here. By the looks of it that seems to have gone. So tell me, have you all just resorted to lurking rather than posting or is the scene really dead?
I didn't even know there was a Jewish scene here. Your post helped me discover it. I'd be happy to start posting. Background: I'm Sephardic, Reform with some Conservative, a socialist (think Kshama Sawant--I live in Seattle) and opinionated.
I'm pretty much diametrically opposed to you! I'm Ashkenazi, not sure of a label but RWMO might come closest, politically flexible, live in Manchester and opinionated.
Things can always be revitalized. I live in Manhattan and affiliate with Orthodoxy, although I am far from a model Orthodox Jew. My paternal grandfather came from Lithuania, making me a Litvak by descent. Unlike others I attend synagogue with, I am social democratic on economic issues and centrist on social issues.
